How to set up local exchange server to receive email from my domain or website ?

1. Do you have a static IP address at home? If not, get one (talk to your ISP - they MAY NOT offer it to residential customes!). If you don't get one, don't do this. It CAN work, but much of the mail you send out will be blocked as spam if you are using a dynamic address. Assuming you have a static IP address at home: 2. Configure Exchange so that it knows what domains it's accepting mail for: a) SBS 2003, follow these instructions: http://www.petri.co.il/configure_exchange_2000_2003_to_receive_email_for_other_domains.htm b) SBS 2008, follow these instructions: http://www.petri.co.il/configure-exchange-2007-recieve-email-other-domains.htm 3. Not familiar with CPanel - but basically, you need to create an "A" DNS record for your HOME machine's PUBLIC IP address - call it mymail.yourdomain.com (you could call it ANYTHING.yourdomain.com, but for this example, I'm calling it mymail). 4. Now change the MX record you should have listed to mymail.yourdomain.com. If there are additional MX records, REMOVE them (otherwise, SOME messages could be missed and sent to the old mail server). ALTERNATIVE: There is another way you may be able to do this - using a "store and forward" service, but I've not used them before and am not sure I could help sufficiently in getting it setup. If you have trouble finding things in CPanel, I MAY be able to help if you are able to post screen shots - otherwise, maybe someone else can come along and assist in that regard.
